VietnamNews quotes Peter Ryder’s commentary on Danang’s sustainable growth towards 2050
On 8 March 2018, 500 representatives of businesses and local administration agencies gathered in Da Nang to attend the Spring Dialogue . The dialogue, with the presence of the city’s Party Secretary, Mr. Truong Quang Nghia, was an open discussion for local administration and businesses to share ideas about development of Da Nang in a sustainable way ahead of the 2030-2050 period.
Da Nang will prioritize boosting tourism, information technology (IT), sea port and logistics in 2018 to build a foundation for the next period of development in a sustainable way. The central city will take more positive measures supporting investors and businesses, creating more rooms for rapid and sustainable development with ‘green growth’ target.
Peter Ryder CEO of Indochina Capital provided insightful comment on what Da Nang should consider in its growth agenda for the next stage of sustainable development. “Da Nang should continue its tourism development in a sustainable way and reduce the impact of construction on coastal buildings and projects”, said Peter, “Improving the transparency should be considered in the development plan to attract foreign investment”.
Vietnam News Daily dated 9 March quoted Peter’s comments, together with other senior executives, in an article titled “Central city looks to 2050 growth”. Read more here.
